WHAT IS WATER ?

WATER IS A COMBINATION OF HYDROGEN AND OXYGEN ATOMS ⚛️ 

                                  Sources of water 
There are three main sources of water.
                  1️⃣ Atomspheric water sources.
➡️This is mainly water from the Rains.
                  2️⃣ Surface water sources
➡️This includes natural sources such as Rivers,  Dams, stream, And lake as well man-made depression like dams prods, and earth pans.
           
                    3️⃣ Under ground water these are mainly shallow wells, boreholes and springs.

                                     TYPES OF WATER
THERE ARE TWO TYPES OF OF WATER
1️⃣HARD WATER
        FEATURE /CHARACTERISTICS

➡️High level of dissolved minerals
➡️It can have adistirict taste depending on the minerals in it.
➡️When it is boiled it forms a coating unthutensils.
➡️Soap and detergents  do not lather easily.
➡️It can have unpleasant taste.
➡️It maybe unsuitable for drinking.
 
                                      SOFT WATER
          FUATURE........
🖍Contains low levels of dissolved minerals
🖍It is suitable for drinking.
🖍It lather easily with Soap and other detergents.

                  CLEAN AND SAFE
🖍Clean water refers to water that is clear and has no visible particles.
🖍However clean water may still contains microorganisms that make people sick.
     
                       SAFE WATER
🖍Refer to water that does not contain microorganisms, It is therefore safe for drinking.


                       METHODS OF WATER MANAGEMENT

           Water management at house hold level will consist of four process.

              1️⃣ COLLCTION

In many developing countries water is not available within the house holds and has to be collected by members of the house holds or venders.
           
                          WAYS WHICH WATER CAN BE CONTAMINATED DURING COLLECTION.
 ✔️Using dirty water collection vessels.
✔️Surface runoff water which is liked  to collected contaminations.
✔️Discharge of sewage and industried waste into the sources.
✔️Bathing, swimming or walking into the sources.
✔️Washing clothes and untensile at water sources.
✔️Dumping of solid waste near by or direct to a water sources.
✔️Dirty drawing vessels and ropes in the case of open wells.
✔️Locating toilet near water sources.
✔️Watering animals at sources.

                 2️⃣TRANSPOTATION
This is taking water by any makes from one area to another.
🖍some commities use animals such as donkys to carry waters.
