REGIONAL PRESIDENT OF ETHIOPIA VISITED THE NETHERLANDS
The Regional President of Oromia, LEMMA MEGERSA, and The Regional President of Amhara, ANDARGACHEW, recently visited The Netherlands. The purpose of the visit was to familiarize the Regional presidents with some of the Dutch companies active in ETHIOPIA, Such as Heineken, Groenteen Fruithuis, Wageningen University and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Some of the Challenges surrounding international investment have also been discussed.
The Netherlands has a long standing economic and development relationship with countries in the Horn of Africa, and in particular with ETHIOPIA, Ethiopia is an important partner of the Netherlands and the Regions Oromia and Ahmara are the Regions where most of the aid and trade activities of the Netherlands take place. More then 100 Dutch companies are active in Ethiopia and create about 70,000jobs. The favourable climatic condition, the large domestic market, the powerful economic agrowth and the ambitious development agenda make Ethiopia an interesting country for Dutch entrepreneurs. Minister lash has a proactive trade and development agenda, and aims to strengthen cooperation with Ethiopia for a sustainable and inclusive growth of the country.
